Spring and Spring Rains

I love Spring! It is my favorite time of year. The green is brighter than any other green and the air is so fresh. As I was out doing some yard work, I pulled up a piece of wood that had tiny mushrooms sprouting from clumps of dirt on the side. I was all set up on my front porch to draw and as soon as I made the first line on my paper, it started raining! I tried to move back into the doorway but the wind still blew the droplets onto my page. So in a compromise with nature, I carried the large piece of wood into my kitchen, propped it up over my sink and opened the kitchen window so I could still smell the spring rain! The lighting was not quite as nice and there was a rather constant stream of small ants appearing on the counter top. But I enjoyed it all the same!

Thanks friend! I appreciate you getting me the sketch book and pushing me to start drawing again. It's nice to remember myself. It's kind of like wrapping up in an old familiar blanket.

Don't think Tolkien could have said it better!
